Day 2 started out with some wonderful change in scenery as we skirted by the Black Hills (that will be another trip for the future) and headed through part of Wyoming and into Montana. No trip on I-90 would be complete without a stop at Wall Drug. We have been there several times, our kids loved the totally tourist aspects of it, and Dale and I got there at just the right time to get a good stretch and drink break.
It was a very long day of driving, but the scenery, the occasional antelope sightings, and a very scary severe storm kept us going.
We finally arrived at our destination for the day, Laurel, Montana. After we got settled at our hotel, we walked to a nearby restaurant, The Bear Tooth Grill, where we were treated to an amazing meal and some conversation with a very friendly owner. She made the most amazing Blue Cheese Dressing! And the mac-n-cheese was to die for!
Tomorrow is our first day on the bike and we are super excited to head out on the Bear Tooth Highway. Come along for the ride!
