Adventures In…Website Launches

I have been a bit neglectful of the blog in recent weeks because I have been working with Dale on a new venture.  Dale loves, and I mean loves, planning and mapping trip routes for our motorcycle trips.  He sits at night and click click clicks on his computer, (until I can’t stand listening to it any longer and complain) plotting the best routes.  For us, best means lots of curves, elevation changes, great scenery, some pavement, some gravel, maybe a two track thrown in…or even water crossings.  One area in particular we have fallen in love with is the Driftless Area.  What is the Driftless Area?  Wikipedia describes it as, “The Driftless Area is a region in Minnesota, Wisconsin, northwestern Illinois, and northeastern Iowa of the American Midwest that was never glaciated.  The region includes elevations ranging from 603 to 1,719 feet (184 to 524 m) and covers an area of 24,000 square miles (62,200 km2).  The rugged terrain is due both to the lack of glacial deposits, or drift, and to the incision of the upper Mississippi River and its tributaries into bedrock.

We have enjoyed many amazing rides in the Driftless Area, and there are many more that we are anxious to take.  Dale has been mapping routes in the region for some time now and very soon we will be unveiling our new website, Driftless Road Adventures. It is a site where we will share these routes and make GPS downloads of the routes available.  We will also be promoting the area and specific points of interest along each route.  So whether you have a motorcycle or just want to go out for an amazing car ride, this site is for you.  So get ready!  Riding season is almost here, and so is Driftless Road Adventures!  Come along for the ride!!  More coming soon…
