Great Weekend Filled With Bad Behavior!

Dale and I had a wonderful weekend and hope you did too!  We didn’t have the usual list of things that “needed” to be done this past weekend so we decided to have fun instead!  Our focus right now is on getting some things done for our son and soon to be daughter-in-law’s reception that we are hosting in July.  We want to have as much ready now as we can so that when motorcycle riding season finally reaches Iowa, we will have weekends free to ride!  So one of the things I am working on is collecting some glass items for table decorations.  Saturday afternoon we decided we would combine that with trying out some new pubs in the area.  So, we alternated trying a bar with shopping and in the process found a few things for the reception AND some new fun places to eat/drink.  Unfortunately, this did not go well with Weight Watchers!!  We felt obliged to try the deep fried cheese curds at Ruby’s and, later, the pizza at Fat Boys.  Everything was delicious and we had a really fun day together.  Sunday there was more of the same, and although we managed to keep our eating under control, we also polished off the wine we had here with the agreement that we would buy no more until our weight loss was actually moving in the right direction again.

If I were a ranter, I would rant about the fact that Weight Watchers claims that you can eat what you want and live how you want and still lose weight.  They insist that eating out is easy and you don’t really have to change your lifestyle.  This, of course, is a load of crap. Try as we might, Dale and I have never found a way to eat out and still stay within our points.  Even a salad in a restaurant is too much.  So we rarely eat out and if we do, we usually splurge on something we really really want to get the craving out of our systems.  Traveling and special occasions are also difficult.  Although Dale and I plan to crack down and stick to the plan now, I know that we will struggle with a trip to our son’s in Seattle this week and my birthday the week after.  There is always something coming up or just around the corner to test our resolution.  Anyway, it was a great weekend and although we will pay for it now that it’s over, sometimes girls just want to have fun!

We would love to hear how you deal with weight loss and life events like eating out, birthdays, travel.  Leave me a comment, please!
